|COLUMBUS—The Create Columbus Commission (CCC) announces its 2019 grant program recipients. The CCC is an engaged group of young professionals (YPs), who are seen as the community’s foremost thought leaders on young professional interests, experiences, and priorities.|
Since 2013, the Create Columbus Catalyst Grants Program has administered more than $250,000 to enhance the YP experience in the greater Columbus region. These initiatives have covered a wide variety of areas that have greatly impacted the Columbus community.
“As Create Columbus enters a new era of mission, we are excited to award grants to new and existing projects that advance young professional priorities throughout Central Ohio,” remarked Maylin Sambois, Grants Chair of the Create Columbus Commission. “We will award roughly $25,000 to deserving applicants who have shown a profound interest in developing the economic, social, and cultural landscape of our city.”
This year’s grant cycle received 43 applications from a colorful array of programs; in 2018 the grants program was not administered. For a comprehensive list of past grant recipients visit https://createcolumb.us/grants/past-grantees/
“We’ve had significant organizational shifts since our last grant awarding round in 2017; the CCC became an independent organization and received 501(c)(3) designation. We’ve taken steps to ensure, like the programs we fund, a critical investment is made in our work to the benefit of our community. We are humbled to support this year’s grant recipients” said Create Columbus Commission Chair Densil Porteous.
